Data Sharing

The BCFR has provided information on the data collected through our Registry to the NCI Cancer Epidemiology Descriptive Cohort Database.

Specific to genomic and genome-wide association study (GWAS) data, we comply with NIH Genomic Data Sharing (GDS) Policy, and will submit any large-scale human genomic data (e.g., GWAS, SNP arrays, epigenomic) to the National Center for Biotechnology Information’s (NCBI) database of Genotypes and Phenotypes (dbGaP). Researchers can apply to access this data through the dbGAP website.

The BCFR has contributed data to the following datasets which are available through the dbGaP website:

Breast Cancer Family Registry: phs002835.v1.p1

Breast Cancer Family Registry Early-onset Breast Cancer GWAS: phs001589.v1.p1
High-Risk Breast Cancer GWAS: phs000929.v1.p1
African American Breast Cancer GWAS: phs000851.v1.p1
San Francisco Bay Area Latina Breast Cancer Study: phs000912.v1.p1
Discovery, Biology, and Risk of Inherited Variants in Breast Cancer (DRIVE) – GWAS Meta-Analysis: phs001263.v1.p1
